Field Service Engineer

Introduction

As a Field Service Engineer, your role encompasses providing technical support to customers utilizing our clients platforms (PCR-based) and cell staining systems. Your responsibilities include system installation, maintenance, and repairs at customer sites to ensure optimal operation. Our clients customers primarily consist of (academic) hospital laboratories focused on Medical Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics in the Benelux region. While your primary responsibility is in the Netherlands, occasional support in Belgium will be required.

Function:

Your role as a Field Service Engineer encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of systems at customer sites.
  • Providing general system training.
  • Offering general (remote) technical support.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Staying updated on the latest technical developments.
  • Collaborating within a multi-functional team, working alongside colleague field service engineers and field application specialists.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or have a background in Molecular Biology, along with proven experience in electronics.
  • Previous experience in a service engineering position within a hospital laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information System (LIS) connections and software applications.
  • Capability to work independently, prioritize customer needs, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit a ‘can-do’ attitude and maintain flexibility in your approach.
  • Strong proficiency in both Dutch and English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
